Healthy General Tso's Chicken
Ingredients:
- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into cubes
- 1 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 inch knob ginger, minced
- 1/2 cup vegetable broth
- 1 Tbsp rice vinegar
- 3 Tbsp hoisin sauce
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 tsp Chinese chili flakes
- 5 dried red chili peppers
- Toasted sesame seeds for garnish
- Thinly sliced green onion for garnish
Instructions:
- In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and cornstarch. Add the chicken cubes and toss to coat.
- Heat the oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chicken and cook until no longer pink.
- In another bowl, mix the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and vegetable broth.
- In the same pan, add the garlic, ginger, and red chili peppers. Cook for a minute.
- Add the sauce to the pan and stir to coat the chicken.
- Serve the chicken with the sauce, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
